MUSIC version 3 Training
"
(This is an outline for a typical 3-day course .)
Workshop outline
The 3-day course enables you to apply the MUSIC (Model for urban stormwater improvement conceptualisation) software, and also understand the theory and assumptions behind the model. You learn how to simulate and evaluate the performance of stormwater treatment measures, either singly or in a treatment train. The workshop discusses the importance of calibration, and the use of local monitoring data to support modelling.
Objectives
To give new users of MUSIC:
- ability to use its features and interface, including the new life-cycle costing component,
- ability to interpret output from MUSIC simulations,
- an understanding of the theory and assumptions behind MUSIC, so that you can appropriately simulate particular stormwater management scenarios.
Should you attend?
Yes, if you are a professional in local government, a consultancy or a waterway- or catchment-management agency.
The workshop is appropriate for people who have had no prior training in the MUSIC software.
Prerequisites and equipment needed for the course
- Understanding of hydrologic and water-quality processes, preferably within an urban context.
Registration includes
- Computer access
- A set of MUSIC course notes
- A bound copy of the MUSIC User Manual
- Morning and afternoon teas and lunches.
